note form assignment one (has been changed since)
The first doom
When doom started to change into the modem gaming world
The newest game
(find facts and history of the games)
Changes between them all:
- Graphics … level of gore and detail in characters
- Ui layout
- Map sizes – location changes and how it changes the look of the overall game
My game idea (look at PowerPoint):
- Basic game idea
You are a spartan brought up in a life only knowing war and bloodshed, after being murdered in the glory of a massive battle you find yourself in the depts of hades home. Hell. From here you will continue to do what you know best. Kill. Till you find hades and try to reclaim your soul so you can rest in peace.
- Mood boards
- Character design
- Weapons
Looking into Greek history they obviously had a spear, a sword bows and a shield.
The three types of weapon will obviously switch up the game play as one is a long-ranged attack and the other is close quilters
- Level design
The game will be set in the depts of hell
No open world (linear)
Small enemies which lead up to a bigger boss
- Colour scheme
It will follow a very basic colour scheme, having red and dark colours as the landscape and some collectable chests in brighter blues to help the player identify them.
Looking back at the character designs it follows the same Patton as the level design and this connects nicely
- Concepts
Add my picture and how they will link into the game
- Target audience
I’m going to target my games audience at 16 to 22-year olds with the rating being 18
Why this age
Why do I expect it to be played but yoots
- Music (add links and write why you think they’ll fit with a short clip)
The siege arise – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-D5scEB-7MQ
Upbeat rock song that will get the view pumped for what they are watching, only being 2 minutes long means it’ll be shorter but has that beat which fits the spartan life, this is probably is my first choice.
Zach Hemsley vengeance – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lhv_yFMuwxs&list=PLXnHGeaznO0EYQI-ae5Yiz7fBol5E-0oj&index=20&t=0s
After being used in the film the equalizer and seeing how it would fit with the premise of my game idea where the fallen character will have to take back vengeance on his life, I feel like this song with its incredible slow build up could fit with the game.
Kings of Leon closer – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8agEo6zxeHY
Another rock beat has great potential for a game trailer can easily picture it with my main character in a fight scene.
- Inspiration
DOOM
The game has what I’m looking for in a playable hell
300
Shows off the Spartans in their prime for a more human way the film also includes monsters which they fight in waves throughout the film
Percy Jackson (underworld seen)
Different perception in hell and what it looks like
Clash of the titans
Gives a personality to the gods in the film and shows off their powers in the second film
https://youtu.be/iU6zpYMwPeU – gods fight scene
NEED TO DESIGN A UI FOR MY GAME
- Why would I use this deign?
- why not other deigns?
- Add concepts
For commerce you have explained what it is well and now you need to research about how E-sports and DLC’s have an impact within the gaming industry and games in general. Here is a link you could use: https://www.gamedesigning.org/gaming/e-sports/

Over all the website is grate nice layout. However you should convey how technology, governing bodies and culture has had an effect on the games industry with supporting links in technology.

very good but seems to the visual story telling blog and all of it is very bare bones add more of the historical and contextual to the blog as that is for the assignment but also maybe add tabs for it to switch from the visual story telling and contextual studies https://99designs.co.uk/blog/design-history-movements/history-graphic-design/ heres a link for graphic designs hope it helps

Try using this to back up how VR has made an impact.

and try to be more precise when describing PEGI as a labelling company is quite vague

I like how you’ve begun giving examples of Esport’s tournaments, another good example would be Activision Blizzard’s success with the Overwatch League, and how that has helped them boost game sales. Here’s a link which explores some of the successes the league has had so far: https://www.tomsguide.com/opinion/why-watch-overwatch-league-meta

To improve PEGI you could mention the process, and a case they have been involved in, here is an article. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/gamesblog/2013/jun/26/pegi-age-ratings-saints-row-4

with the commerce page you mentioned a prize pool for a tournament a more recent example could be the Fortnight world tournament where the player who got first place won $3 mill USD

When it comes to PEGI I would recommend giving an example of where PEGI are accountable for judging different features in gaming such as this one:
