PEGI
Pegi is a rating publisher which classify how newly released games on the market get categorised through rigorous tests to justify the rating each game as it is very import for each product to be given a rating because it is legally enforced in the UK. “Age ratings provide guidance to consumers to help them decide whether or not to buy a particular product. Since 2012, PEGI has been the sole system used in the UK for new console and PC games.” ( askaboutgames, video standards and Ukie, viewed 6 December 2019 https://www.askaboutgames.com/pegi-rating ) This helps protect any customer unsuitable for the product as well as helping them find a particular game they maybe looking for.
Legal and ethical
point: NEGATIVE affect
- Having legal issues in a game is bad rep for the games industry
- Gta is a good example for this as linsey Lohan who tried to sue gta
- Ethical problems in the industry are like insulting some’s culture or religion
- Manhunt was a game which took this too far when it show grewsome realistic murders
